Prevention measures strengthened at all Kyrgyzstan’s checkpoints, Health Ministry

Bishkek, Feb.5, 2020. /Kabar/. Prevention measures have been strengthened at all checkpoints of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the country’s Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
"Quarantine zones are fully ready to receive citizens, temporary observation rooms with all necessary supplies are organized. Masks, personal protective equipment and respirators are available in sufficient quantity.
Boxing wards have been prepared in health organizations. The country fully has consumable materials for appropriate laboratory tests, as well as medicines necessary for treatment," Deputy Health Minister Tolo Isakov said during the inspection of the sanitary quarantine section at the Manas International Airport.
It was noted that the Ministry of Health, in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), has prepared an algorithm for action, according to which all persons entering Kyrgyzstan from countries with a poor epidemiological situation undergo thermometry, take tests and are sent to a quarantine zone for medical observation before receiving the results of the tests.
Persons arriving from China’s Wuhan city even in the absence of clinical symptoms, will necessarily undergo medical supervision for up to 14 days.
WHO Representative and Head of the Country Office in Kyrgyzstan Nazira Artykova noted that the National Virology Laboratory, where samples are sent for testing, meets all international standards and has been accredited by WHO.
She added that if necessary, analyses will be sent to the virological laboratory in London (UK).
