Results of meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council

Bishkek, Apr. 13, 2020 / Kabar /. The online meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was held on April 10, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) said. The members of the Council adopted a package of measures in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to ensure the vital needs of the population, support mutual trade, freedom of movement of goods in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and create conditions for further economic growth. The participants of the video conference considered the strategic directions for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025 and decided to create a mechanism for applying the certificate of origin of serial products manufactured on the territory of Kazakhstan. The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council instructed the EEC Board together with the governments of the EAEU countries to prepare acts on changes in the EAEU law in the field of international electronic commerce. In other words, to form effective mechanisms for integrated legal regulation in this area. The members of the Intergovernmental Council took note of the report “On the macroeconomic situation in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and proposals for ensuring sustainable economic development”. The extraordinary meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is scheduled for April 23, it will be held in a video conference mode.
