The situation with the coronavirus in China is under control, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen told speaking at the round table “New data on the coronavirus and Chins’s measures infighting it,” which is held at Kyrgyz National University in Bishkek. The event was organized by “Kyrgyzstan-China Friendship Society” Public Foundation and Kyrgyz National University. Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, representatives of public organizations and civil society participated in it. Speaking at the round table, the Chinese ambassador informed about the situation with a new type of coronavirus in China and announced new data on infected, dead and recovered. Thus, according to her data, today in China 77 thousand. 658 people are infected, of which 500 are new cases. 27 thousand 323 people recovered, 2 thousand 663 died. “Today we see that, starting from Feb. 13, the incidence is decreasing, today there are only 50 new cases of infection. Since Feb. 24, only 9 new cases have been registered in 30 provinces around Hubei. These facts show that the situation with coronavirus is improving and is under control. Chinese President Xi Jinping said this is a big exam. The people passed this test and showed their dedication,” she said. Du Dewen noted that the Chinese government has concentrated all national resources and has done everything to prevent an epidemic. “The impact of the epidemic on the global economy in the second quarter of this year will be limited. We believe that under the wise leadership of Xi Jinping, the Chinese people will become even stronger by defeating the coronavirus,” the diplomat emphasized. Rector of National University Kanat Sydykov said that such a meeting allows to get reliable first-hand information. “About a month ago, we were one of the first to take this information firsthand. From an official source from China, we received information on how coronavirus is distributed and measures to combat it. The pace of development was alarming in our country too. Almost every student who was in China kept in touch, none of them fell ill, and they all returned to Kyrgyzstan. And according to the latest reliable information, there are no cases of coronavirus infection in Kyrgyzstan,” the rector emphasized. In addition, the head of the university handed over the funds intended for the fight against coronavirus. In turn, the Chinese ambassador thanked for the help and support of the Chinese people in the fight against the virus. “With great gratitude we accept your help, we will send it to the China Red Cross Fund. And in China, I think, as in Kyrgyzstan, there is a saying: “A friend in need is friend indeed,” she summed up.
