Success of Kyrgyz chefs at int’l culinary championships in Tashkent

Bishkek, Nov.13, 2019. /Kabar/. Representatives of Kyrgyzstan have earned 17 medals at the international culinary championships in Uzbekistan, President of Kyrgyzstan’s Chefs Association Berik Egimbayev told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
The competitions, attended by chefs from 30 countries, were held in Tashkent on Nov.6-8. Kyrgyzstan was represented by 20 persons.
“Our Association was established in 2012. Our goal is to do chef work in Kyrgyzstan and represent the country's interests in the international arena. We cooperate with lyceums, with all countries. It's the first time we've gone out and brought in 17 medals," he said.
“The Chefs Association is the only representative of the World Islamic Association in the Kyrgyz Republic and the World Association of Chef Societies, and Thomas Gugler personally visited our country twice.
In the future, a Central Asian college will be opened in Kyrgyzstan with the support of the World Association,” a judge of the competition, representative of the Association of Chefs of Turkic Peoples Shukhrat Sharipov noted.
“First of all, we sent our participants to gain experience, to see new technologies used in cooking and to feel the atmosphere of international cuisine. Kyrgyz cuisine, today is the leading industry in the economy, in particular in tourism. Chefs are being prepared by more than 40 educational institutions across the country,” Azamat Imankulov, Chief Specialist of the Department of Educational Work and Social Partnership.
“The best ones were chosen at the casting in Bishkek before the competition. To date, the profession of chef and a number of specialties are in demand in the labor market here in the near abroad," Director of professional lyceum № 97 Aizat Pusurmankulova informed.
Gold medalist Akhmad Rakhimov said he participated in the red meat category and took thefirst place. The chef emphasized that he brought all the products for the championship from Kyrgyzstan.
“Over 80 participants, worthy competitors, took part in this nomination. I have good mentors in the Association. We have earned gold. There was only one medal in this category. We are pleased with the result," he said.
Nuriya Surmaliyeva took the second place in the competition, Iskandar Lomanov earned bronze medal.
Students of the capital's lyceums Chyngyz Uzakov and Tilek Suranov took second and third places, respectively.
