USA to transfer equipment worth $20 thsd to training center of Prosecutor General's Office

Bishkek, Oct. 29, 2018. /Kabar/. The United States will hand over computers, projectors and other equipment worth $ 20,000for the class and staff of the Training Center of the Prosecutor General’s Office. This equipment will not only strengthen the institutional capacity of the Training Center, but also support the preparation of current and new prosecutors under the newly developed Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, which will enter into force on January 1, 2019. The handover ceremony will take place on October 30 and will be attended by Deputy Prosecutor General Jamilya Dzhamanbayeva, Director of the Prosecutor’s General Office Training Center Gulmira Davletbaeva and Director of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Section (INL) of the US Embassy in Bishkek Sandeep Paul. Since 2001, the Department International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Section at the US Embassy has provided Kyrgyzstan with technical assistance and material support worth over $ 25 million, which has led to significant achievements in five key areas: the fight against illicit drug trafficking, the rule of law, the reform of the internal affairs bodies and assistance to the public in respect of public order, the fight against corruption and human trafficking.
