WHO hands over PPE and laboratory supplies to counter COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Apr. 30, 2020 / Kabar /. The World Health Organization (WHO) donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan as part of fighting COVID-19, UN press service in the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The WHO aid includes 950 protective suits; 100 infrared thermometers; 950 disposable gloves; 950 goggles; 950 face masks of type FFP2. The total cost of humanitarian aid is more than USD 22 thousand.
These personal protective equipment will allow healthcare workers and primary care providers across the country to quickly and safely fight COVID-19. The aid is provided at the request of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to combat COVID-19. The sanitary-epidemiological service of the Kyrgyz Republic plans to distribute half of the cargo to medical institutions for the southern part of the country.
In addition, at the request of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, 2 procurements and supplies of laboratory supplies (tubes, tampons, kits, reagents, etc.) were organized in the amount of about USD 36 thousand for sample collection and research.
