Minister of Finance holds Talks on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the WBG and the IMF

 

 

Marrakech, October 12 (QNA) - HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari met with several financial and governmental institutions on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.

HE Al Kuwari attended several meetings with dignitaries, including Chairman of CITI John Dugan, and CEO of Standard Chartered Bill Winters.

During the meeting, various topics of common interests were discussed, notably in the financial and economic fields, as well as the latest economic, investment, and business developments.

The Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations, and academics to discuss issues of global interest, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness. They also see the organization of seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and various other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world's financial system.
