MWL Denounces Storming of Saudi Embassy in Sudan

Makkah, Jun 9, 2023, SPA -- The Muslim World League (MWL) condemned on Thursday the storming and vandalism of the headquarters of Saudi Arabia’s embassy and attaché offices as well as the housing and property of the embassy staff in Sudan by armed groups.
In a statement, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, deplored the brutal assault.
He stressed the necessity to respect international conventions and norms guaranteeing the protection of diplomatic missions’ headquarters and their employees’ safety.
Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Issa highlighted great diplomatic and humanitarian efforts made by the Kingdom about the crisis in Sudan through continuous relief campaigns to alleviate the Sudanese people’s suffering.
He also praised the Kingdom’s efforts to intensify communication with the conflicting parties to reach a peaceful solution that preserves Sudan’s security, unity, and territorial integrity.
