NSSA participates in Science Summit during UNGA78

New York, Sept. 19 (BNA): Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the National Space Science Authority (NSSA), participated in the opening keynote session of the Science Summit around the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78). The role and contribution of science to attaining the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is the central theme of the summit. The objective of the summit is to develop and launch science collaborations to demonstrate global science mechanisms and activities to support the attainment of the UN SDGs The summit will examine what enabling policy, regulatory and financial environments are needed to implement and sustain the science mechanisms required to support genuinely global scientific collaborations across continents, nations and themes. Scientific discovery through the analysis of massive data sets is at hand. This data-enabled approach to science, research and development will be necessary if the SDGs are to be achieved. "I was honoured to represent Bahrain in this international scientific summit, and during my speech I discussed the NSSA’s journey since its founding by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and defining his vision that the authority sought to achieve through its 10 years journey with the support of the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and with the follow-up of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council," Dr. Al Aseeri said.
