‘Iran’s nuclear achievements will astonish the West’

TEHRAN, Nov. 29 (MNA) -- Informed sources in Tehran said that Western countries, which are trying to focus the world’s attention on the false issue of a “possible military dimension” of Iran’s nuclear activities, will be astonished by the country’s nuclear achievements in the near future. After International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Yukiya Amano released a report on Iran’s nuclear program on November 8, in which he claimed that Iran appears to have worked on designing an atomic bomb, Western countries created a commotion and attempted to adopt measures to hinder Iran’s nuclear program, but Iranian political analysts believe that the West should pay more attention to Iran’s nuclear achievements. There are reports that important developments will take place in relation to Iran’s nuclear program that could thwart Western countries’ plan to intensify pressure on Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi announced on Monday that the most modern facility for the production of nuclear fuel plates, which will be named after Martyr Shahriari, will come on stream in the near future. Professor Majid Shahriari, who was a prominent physicist, was killed in a terrorist bombing in Tehran on November 29, 2010. On November 23, 2011, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Director Fereydoun Abbasi said that the Bushehr nuclear power plant is scheduled to be connected to the national grid at its full capacity in two months. Last August, he stated that the Fordo enrichment facility would probably become operational in the next several months. According to the latest reports, centrifuges are being transferred from the Natanz nuclear facility to the Fordo enrichment facility, which is located near Qom. “The Fordo facility is being completed and a number of centrifuges have been transferred to the facility,” Abbasi said. Iran has announced that the Fordo nuclear facility will produce 20 percent enriched uranium, which is needed to manufacture the nuclear fuel plates for the Tehran research reactor, which produces radioisotopes for cancer treatment. Iran has also announced that it will triple the production of nuclear fuel plates for the Tehran research reactor. Analysts say Western countries have raised the false issue of a “possible military dimension” of Iran’s nuclear activities because their attempts to hinder Iran’s nuclear program have failed, and Iran has managed to establish the Fordo nuclear facility, install a new generation of centrifuges at its nuclear facilities, take practical steps to produce the nuclear fuel needed for the Tehran research reactor, launch the Bushehr nuclear power plant, and produce and stockpile 20 percent enriched uranium.
