4th Summit of Arab and South American Countries concludes in Riyadh, issues final communiqué

Riyadh, 12th November, 2015 (WAM) -- Under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, the leaders and heads of delegations of Arab and South American countries concluded their 4th Summit of Arab and South American Countries at King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre in Riyadh yesterday. UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, led the UAE's delegation to the two-day summit, which was attended by heads of states and representatives of over 30 Arab and Latin American countries. Then, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saqer, Secretary General of the summit, delivered the final communique of the 4th Summit of Arab and South American Countries as following: 'The leaders and heads of delegations of Arab and South American countries held in Riyadh during the period 28/29, Muharram, 1437H corresponding to 10/11, November, 2015, their 4th Summit at invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Following welcoming the dialogue and cooperation between the two regions to develop a strategic partnership based on the mutual interest and respect. After emphasising the understanding of everybody of the important role being played by regional blocs and gatherings. And believing in the right of peoples to live in a stable and prosperous future with no dangers of terrorism, nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction, the conferees: Emphasise the need to achieve a just and comprehensive peace to the Palestinian cause in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative to establish the state of Palestine on the parallels of 1967 with Eastern Al-Quds as its capital. Emphasise the need to reach a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with a statement in 'Geneva1' and 'Vienna Conference'. The importance of finding a solution to the Yemeni crisis through application of the relevant resolutions of the Security Council, particularly resolution 2216. Support the ongoing political process of dialogue in Libya under United Nations auspices. Express their rejection to any interference in the internal affairs of countries in the region by foreign powers in violation of the Charter of the United Nations and the principle of good neighbourliness. Stress the importance of respecting the unity, sovereignty and independence of the states and territorial integrity and resolving conflicts peacefully. Call upon the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond to the repeated requests of the United Arab Emirates to find a peaceful solution to the issue of the three islands (Greater Tunb - Lesser Tunb - Abu Musa) in line with the Charter of the United Nations and international law. Underscore the necessity for concerted regional and international efforts to find a stable and world free from the risk posed by nuclear proliferation. Condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and reject associating it with any religion, culture or race. Welcome the results of the implementation of sect oral meetings as stated in Lima Declaration. Emphasise that the investment is one of the social and economic development pillars. Welcome the success of the States Parties achieved towards the Framework Convention of the United Nations on climate change. Emphasise the full political support of the Arab and South American countries through the United Nations General Assembly Resolution No. 319/69 on adoption of the basic principles of the process of sovereign debt restructuring. Underscore the importance of promoting cultural and social communication between the two regions. Welcome the contents of 'Riyadh Declaration' as an unprecedented declaration in its comprehensiveness and being issued without any reservation. Welcome the offer of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to host the 5th Summit of Arab and South American Countries. Express deep thanks and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its government and its people for their generous hospitality and warm reception. At the closing session, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro Moros delivered a speech in which he thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the warm hospitality and good preparations for this summit. The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela thanked the Republic of Uruguay, president and coordinator of the South American Unity Organisation, for its great efforts in this summit. He expressed welcome and readiness to receive the leaders, presidents and heads of delegations to the 5th Summit of Arab and South American Countries to be held in Venezuela. Then, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud expressed thanks and appreciation of the leaders, presidents and heads of the delegations for their participation in this summit. Then, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques announced the conclusion of the 4th Summit of Arab and South American Countries.
