Abdullah bin Zayed, Malaysian Foreign Minister discuss relations

KUALA LUMPUR: The U.A.E. Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, yesterday discussed with Malaysian Foreign Minister, the Honourable Dato' Sri Anifah Hj. Aman, the ties of cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways of strengthening them. They also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual concern in the light of latest regional and international developments. Currently in Malaysia on an official visit, Sheikh Abdullah commented favourably on the steady growth of bilateral relations between the U.A.E. and Malaysia in various fields. Expressing the hope that his visit would further contribute to developing friendship and joint cooperation so as to meet the desire of both countries, he noted that there was a common wish to open up new areas for co-operation, especially in the areas of economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism and energy. The Malaysian Foreign Minister also praised the state of relations between the U.A.E. and his country, saying that Malaysia was keen to develop bilateral relations in the interests of both. He also expressed admiration for the prestigious status enjoyed by the U.A.E. at regional and international levels. The Malaysian Foreign Minister hosted a banquet in honour of Sheikh Abdullah, which was attended, amongst others, by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director of the Department of East Asia and Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Abdullah Mattar Khamis Al Mazrouei, the U.A.E.
