Abdullah bin Zayed receives Executive Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China

Abu Dhabi (WAM): H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, yesterday received Zhang Yesui, Executive Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and members of his delegation on a current visit to UAE During the meeting which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the two sides discussed ways of promoting bilateral relations between the two countries, the current situation in the Middle East, the latest international developments and matters of common interest. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed hailed the growing relations between UAE and China, and called for promoting them to live up to the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the two friendly countries based on mutual respect and mutual interests. For his part, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China affirmed China's keen interest in promoting and developing its relations with UAE which enjoys an international effective and influential stature, in economic, trade and investment spheres in particular. On the side-lines of the current Chinese delegation's visit, UAE and China held a round of political talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). The UAE side in the talks was chaired by Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs while the Chinese side was chaired by Zhang Yesui, Executive Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. During the talks, the two sides reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between UAE and China, and ways of boosting their strategic partnerships towards opening more channels for political cooperation, as well as economic, trade, energy, sports, climate change cooperation, and intensifying their cooperation in humanitarian and cultural cooperation in the service of the two countries. Dr. Gargash emphasised the importance of holding joint meetings on the strategic and economic interests of the two countries, the need for exchanging visits between the two countries in the next stage, as well as the exchange of expertise in the sphere of sustainable development. Mr. Yesui thanked UAE for its hospitality and efforts to prepare this round of political talks. Mr. Yesui also stressed on the importance of bolstering bilateral relations between the two countries. In November, the two countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of their exchange of diplomatic representation and their promotion of their relations to the highest levels. The number of weekly flights from China to UAE has reached 100, compared with 77 weekly flights from UAE to China. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
