Akhbar Al Sa'a: Government Summit is an intellectual window to developing government work

Dubai (WAM): The Akhbar Al Sa'a (News of the Hour) bulletin has confirmed the keenness of the United Arab Emirates on the development of government performance and to improve services provided to members of the community in order to achieve the welfare of UAE citizens and improve their standard of living through the application of the latest international practices in the field of government action. Under the title: "Government Summit is an intellectual window to developing government work", the bulletin said that the 2nd session of the Government Summit 2014, which launched yesterday under the patronage of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with the participation of a number of leaders, ministers and government officials, experts and pioneers of thought and government creativity, are of vital importance; not only because it is the window for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and best practices in methods of innovation in government services, but also because it allows briefing on leading experiences in various areas of government action, contributing to the re-formulation of the concept of providing government services in innovative ways, which makes government work in the service of members of the community, the main objective of the government in the United Arab Emirates. The Akhbar Al Sa'a bulletin, issued by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies And Research, added that "The new session of the government summit, which will continue until the 12th of the current month, discusses a number of topics that relate to vital services that are offered to members of the community, such as enhancing the quality of social services and facilitating access to them and how to activate the government health services as they have a direct relationship to the health of members of the community and the process of production and development in general." The bulletin highlights the fact that the summit will be devoting a main session to discuss prospects for cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experiences between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations in the field of smart government to find the best ways to develop services across smart means to achieve happiness for the peoples of the region. The bulletin stated that the second session of the Government Summit, the issues it presents for discussion by an elite panel of experts and specialists in the field of government work, and what it offers about global experiences on innovation in government services for customer service reflects the philosophy adopted by the United Arab Emirates in the development of government work, it is a philosophy that promotes the continuous updating of the systems of government work and benefits from the leading experiences of government at the global level. In conclusion, the bulletin affirmed that the development of government performance and promoting the services provided to members of the community represent a major priority for the wise leadership in the UAE, headed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which is keen to apply the latest international practices in the field of government action out of its keenness on UAE citizens' welfare and improve the standard of living in accordance with the highest international standards. It pointed out the goal expressed by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa in his speech on the occasion of 42th National Day, when he stressed that, "The aspiration of our government is not confined to raising the indicators of economic growth, but to raise the standard of living of citizens and put the UAE on the map of the most developmental in fairness, safety and education, culture, sport, housing, health and environment and smart cities, a list of objectives that form the foundations of the process for the UAE's Vision 2021, which is aimed at improving the status of the UAE and make it one of the best countries in the world at all levels." – Emirates News Agency, WAM
