Al Jaber: Economic development in any country is linked to its security and political stability

Cairo: Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, has said that the economic development in any country is linked to its security and political stability, adding that the Egyptian government has achieved positive progress on the roadmap. He made his remarks during his visit yesterday to a number of villages in Qena and Luxor. During the visit, Al Jaber was briefed on the progress of work on building schools and health centres funded by the UAE within the on-going projects aimed at serving Egyptian citizens, in a fast and direct way. He added that there are many indications in the confidence of the international community that Egypt is moving in the right direction as the "Egyptian-Gulf Investment Forum" succeeded in attracting investors from around the world . He explained that he is working on the implementation of the directives of the leadership of the United Arab Emirates to follow-up support projects on the ground, for the benefit of the Egyptian citizens in line with the close historical relations that bind the UAE with its brothers in Egypt . Major General Tariq Saad Eddin, Governor of Luxor, expressed his thanks to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on the strong support of the United Arab Emirates for Egypt. He also welcomed the visit of the UAE delegation to oversee the work progress in respect of support projects carried out under the supervision of the armed forces, pointing out that one of the largest squares in Luxor was named after Sheikh Khalifa due to large popular demand, in recognition of the historical stances of the UAE to support Egypt . Major General Abdul Hamid Hagan, Governor of Qena, stated that the UAE supports some projects in Qena, including the establishment of a health unit in Kom El Mo'meneen as one of nine health units to be completely replaced. He added that the visit of the UAE delegation included a secondary school in the village of Dendera in addition to their viewing examples of the many projects being carried out in Qena, which includes 28 health units and 1,488 residential units. The people of Qena expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation of the UAE's support to Egypt and its people. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
