Al Jaber: UAE provides a unique model in the field of official development assistance

Abu Dhabi (WAM): Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, has said that it’s not surprising that the UAE has achieved first position as the world's largest donor country of official development assistance. He added that this is the approach instilled by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a path which is followed by the UAE leadership in the light of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Commenting on the UAE's achievement of reaching the first position as the world's largest ODA donor country in 2013, with the highest Official Development Assistance/Gross National Income ratio (ODA/GNI ratio), Al Jaber said that this outstanding achievement is the result of the unremitting efforts of a large number of officials and institutions which deserve thanks and appreciation, adding that these efforts will continue to keep the UAE's name present in all positive and constructive initiatives. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
