Albanian president receives Turkish parliamentary delegation

TIRANA (A.A) - February 1, 2012 - Albanian President Bamir Topi received a Turkish Parliamentary delegation headed by Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Volkan Bozkir on Wednesday in Tirana. Topi said that it was important to develop cooperation between parliaments of Turkey and Albania, adding that such cooperation would contribute to the success of relations between the two countries. Noting that Turkey extended great support to Albania's NATO membership, Topi said that now the priority of Albanian foreign policy was to integrate with the European Union. Topi noted that the integration of all Balkan countries with the EU would help solution of many problems in the region. Albania is ready to cooperate with Turkey on the path to EU membership, said Topi. Bozkir said that it was important that the two countries shared experiences on EU membership process, adding that strategic partnership between the two countries would speed up the EU membership process.
