All pyramid scheme firms busted in Iran

TEHRAN, Dec.18 (MNA) – No pyramid scheme company is currently operating in Iran, Ali Naqavi, director of the Intelligence Ministry’s center tasked with dealing with pyramid scheme firms, announced. “There certainly exists no domestic company inside the country, and only foreign pyramid scheme firms outside the country are trying to recruit members within the country,” Naqavi stated during a press conference in Tehran on Saturday. He said that the Intelligence Ministry has dealt with around 1000 pyramid scheme firms since the Iranian calendar year of 1388, which started on March 21, 2009. He also announced that one of the leaders of the illegal Gold Quest pyramid investment company, identified as Hossein Ghaforiyan, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison and a fine of $3,745,000.
