Appeal for World Peace-Loving People Supported by DR Congolese Organizations

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- DR Congolese organizations extended support to an appeal sent by the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea to the world peace-loving people on the occasion of the first anniversary of the adoption of the historic Panmunjom Declaration and the June 12 DPRK-U.S. joint statement. The National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of DR Congo and its affiliated organizations, the DR Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association and the Working Citizens' Association of DR Congo made public a statement at a meeting cosponsored by them on April 26. The statement said that they fully supported the appeal made by the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea which suggested setting the "international action period for peace, prosperity and reunification on the Korean peninsula" from April 27 to June 12 which mark the first anniversary of the adoption of the Panmunjom Declaration and the June 12 DPRK-U.S. joint statement thanks to the bold decision and will of HE Kim Jong Un for defending peace. It noted that the adoption of the Panmunjom Declaration and the June 12 DPRK-U.S. joint statement is an event of radical significance in achieving the improvement of the inter-Korean relations, reunification on the Korean peninsula and peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world. It stressed that the south Korean authorities should sincerely implement the declaration without reading someone's face in line with the trend of the present times. It added that the U.S. should make efforts to improve the DPRK-U.S. relations and build a durable and solid peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean peninsula as specified in the June 12 DPRK-U.S. joint statement. It concluded that they clarify once again that they would conduct more dynamic solidarity activities to support the Korean people's just cause, being convinced that the tragedy of the Korean national division which has lasted century after century would be removed at an early date thanks to HE Kim Jong Un. -0-
