Arab Summit/ Qatar Ambassador to Algeria: HH the Amir's Participation in Algeria Summit Underscores Support for Arab Causes

Algeirs, November 01 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama underlined that the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the 31st regular session of the Arab League Summit in Algeria is an affirmation of His Highness's support for the causes of the Arab nation and everything that would cement solidarity and joint Arab work. In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency said that it is not a secret that HH the Amir is keen to participate in the Arab League summits, stemming from his great interest in the causes of the Arab nation. HH the Amir's attendance at the 31st regular session of the Arab League Summit in Algeria holds a significant impression, given the circumstance of COVID-19 restrictions and the keenness of the Algerian leadership on his attendance at the Summit, in light of the distinguished relations between the two fraternal countries. In this regard, HE the Ambassador noted the renowned Qatari-Algerian relations, noting that the relations between the two countries continue to develop and thrive in light of the keenness of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune to boast the relations towards further cooperation and partnership in various fields. HE Ambassador Abdulaziz Al Naama pointed out that the two countries seek further development of their relations in view of the exchange of official visits and the signing of several agreements recently, as well as the consensus between the two countries on many regional and international issues. His Excellency noted that HH the Amir's visit to Algeria in February 2020 laid the foundations for solid relations between the two countries. The visit witnessed thoughtful talks regarding the development of cooperation mechanisms, agreement on several strategic projects, and coordination of positions. These outcomes were reinforced further by HE Algerian President's visit to Qatar in February 2022. HE the Ambassador noted that HH the Amir was the guest of honor at the inauguration of the Oran 2022 Mediterranean Games in June 2022, as Qatar was the only non-Mediterranean country to be invited to the inauguration ceremony. His Excellency stressed that mutual visits give greater momentum to the distinguished relations between the two countries, open wider areas of cooperation, and coordinate stances in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and the Arab nation. In a related context, HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Algeria underlined that sharing the same views enhances and serves the stability of the region. Undoubtedly, consensus among leaders is eminent to the stability of the region, gives momentum and power to Arab countries, and contributes to the success of Arab League summits. His Excellency added that consensus among Arab countries is a must to establish a strong Arab system that can deal with the obvious challenges facing world countries and the accelerating global events. In his remarks to QNA regarding the Algerian efforts to achieve the Palestinian reconciliation, HE Ambassador praised Algeria's efforts to achieve the reconciliation which were eventually crowned by the Algiers Declaration. His Excellency noted that the Algerian side followed the previous Palestinian reconciliation initiatives, including the ones made by the State of Qatar. His Excellency pointed out that HE Algerian President made unremitting efforts to achieve the Palestinian reconciliation ahead of the convening of the Arab League Summit to give a special meaning to the Summit. The efforts made by HE Algerian President were crowned by the Algiers Declaration, which received wide applause. The State of Qatar was the first country to welcome the Algiers Declaration, which was appreciated by the Algerian side. In his comment on the coincidence of the Summit with the preparations of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 -which he described as a tournament in the name of all Arabs- HE Ambassador Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama said that Qatar is the first Arab country to win the bid to host the World Cup, proving that Arabs can achieve what previous hosting great countries could not do. His Excellency commended the Algerian official and public admiration and appreciation of Qatar's FIFA World Cup hosting, saying that Algeria is continuously stressing that Qatar's host of the World Cup is a source of pride for all Arabs, expressing its full trust that Qatar shall succeed in organizing an exceptional World Cup edition. HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama stressed that Qatar's host of the World Cup strengthens its regional and international position, affirming that Qatar has become a sports, political, economic, and cultural destination. "It is far from being just a matter of sports as we are talking about an integrated series of achievements made by the State of Qatar in terms of infrastructure, stadiums, commercial centers, recreational and tourism facilities, legal, and others that changed the shape of the country to become a role model in accomplishing achievements, under the wise and sheered determination of its leadership," HE the Ambassador indicated.
