Assad's promises for reform imaginary, says Chairman of Syrian National Council

ISTANBUL (A.A) - January 10, 2012 - Chairman of the Syrian National Council, Burhan Galyun, said Tuesday that promises made by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad were imaginary and far from being serious. In a press conference held in Istanbul, Galyun said that what the Syrian people actually wanted was for al-Assad to leave office. "The Syrian people want al-Assad to give up power," Galyun stressed. The Syrian revolution would continue in a peaceful manner, Galyun underlined. Turkey has become a partner of the Syrian National Council, Galyun also said.
