Ayatollah advises Azerbaijan to rethink its attitude toward people

TEHRAN, Jan.5 (MNA) – Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi advised Azerbaijani officials on Wednesday to change their attitude toward their Muslim people. Makarem Shirazi said that Azerbaijani officials are moving in a dangerous direction which has a miserable ending. The situation, in which Shia Muslims in Azerbaijan are living, is worse than other countries, he said, adding that the country’s officials have adopted some measures, such as preventing girls from wearing hijab, which are indicative of their anti-Islamist stances.
