Ayatollah Ali Khamenei calls on presidential candidates to be sincere during pre-election campaigns

Azerbaijan, Baku, May.29/ Trend F.Eminli
Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called on all presidential candidates to be careful and say things in their campaigns that are real, sincere, and based on accurate information.
He made the remarks in a meeting with lawmakers in Tehran, the ISNA News Agency reported.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the candidates to avoid tarnishing the image of others.
The Leader also thanked the candidates who didn't get the approval of the Guardian Council but respected the law.
He also called on all the official to try their best to pave the way for people's participation in the election.
Wednesday's meeting coincides with the anniversary of the establishment of the Iranian parliament back in 1906.
Ayatollah Khamenei had previously said that US officials will once again fail in their efforts to discourage Iranian people from turning out in the upcoming election.
Iranians will deal another blow to American authorities by making a strong showing on election day, he explained.
He further said that the enemies of Iran have in the past few years made a lot of hue and cry over elections in Iran, all of which have failed.
Iran will hold the 11th presidential elections on June 14, 2013. The voters will choose the successor of the current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is not able to participate in the elections for the third term according to the country's constitutional laws.
The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in the national elections and the Guardian Council vets the candidates for qualifications.
