Azerbaijan's president receives French delegation led by Foreign Trade Minister

Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 26 Trend: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a French delegation led by Minister for Foreign Trade, co-chairperson of the commission on bilateral economic cooperation, Nicole Bricq. The head of state praised economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and France. The president stressed the importance of expansion of the activity of French companies in Azerbaijan. Touching upon a meeting of the commission on bilateral economic cooperation, the Azerbaijani leader expressed confidence that issues to be discussed in the event would serve development of economic cooperation between the two countries. Nicole Bricq, in turn, said she visits Azerbaijan as the first minister of the new French government. The minister said her country was interested in expansion of the activities of French companies in Azerbaijan, which she called a strategically important country. The sides said great potential exists to boost Azerbaijan-France economic cooperation, and underlined the importance of determination of new spheres. They also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
