Baghdad’s decision to expel MKO is irreversible: Iraq ambassador
TEHRAN,Dec. 12 (MNA) – The Iraqi ambassador to Iran said that according to the “irreversible’ decision of Iraq's government all members of Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) should leave the country by end of 2011.
The Iraqi government has held meeting with the European Union, the International Committee of Red Cross and the United Nations on expelling the MKO from Iraq, Mohammad Majeed al-Sheikh told on Sunday.
"In a meeting with the representative of ICRC to Tehran, I stressed that the decision is completely irrevocable and in fact it is a decision which has been made by government, parliament and nation of Iraq," he stated.
In reply to a question about whether they negotiated about returning MKO members to Iran, he said the representative of ICRC called on the Iraqi government to postpone the expulsion process for several months after 2012.
The ICRC representative also stressed that the Islamic Republic has no problem for those who are willing to return home except for those whose hands are stained with the Iranian people’s blood, the Iraqi ambassador stated.
