Bilateral political consultations between deputy FMs of Kyrgyzstan, Turkey held

Bishkek, May 15, 2020. /Kabar/. On May 14, 2020 Kyrgyz-Turkish political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers were held, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
"For the first time, political consultations were held using modern information technologies. Heads of delegations, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Azizbek Madmarov and his Turkish counterpart Sedat Önal held talks via video link. Kyrgyz Ambassador to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliyev from Ankara and Turkish Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Cengiz Kamil Firat also took part in the consultations,” the report says.
A wide range of topical issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed during the consultations.
Special attention was given to the COVID-19 pandemic, in particular the measures taken by the two governments to protect public health and control the further spread of coronavirus.
Deputy FM Madmarov expressed his gratitude to the Turkish side for the humanitarian and technical assistance provided, as well as for the support of the request of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to provide comprehensive assistance to the citizens of Kyrgyzstan who found themselves in a difficult situation.
In view of the coronavirus pandemic and its negative consequences, the parties confirmed the expediency of postponing the Fourth World Nomad Games to 2021. Previously, the event was to be held in summer 2020 in Turkey, but in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the sides decided to postpone the Games to the next year in order to maintain the scale of the event.
Cooperation within international and regional organizations, as well as coordination of joint actions at multilateral venues were discussed in detail.
The deputy FMs of the two countries also considered the schedule of upcoming events and discussed the planned visits and high and highest level meetings.
