Boroujerdi: Any Solution To Syrian Problem Doomed to Fail In Absence Of Its Govt

Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA – Iran’s parliament member Alaedin Boroujerdi said any solution to the Syrian crisis is doomed to failure in the absence of Damascus government’s agreement. Broujerdi who is head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission made the remarks here Monday in a meeting with several Syrian MPs who arrived in Tehran Sunday to review issues of mutual interest with Iranian officials. He said he was confident about the victory of the Syrian nation, stressing they will undoubtedly overcome harsh conditions with success. He reiterated that the Islamic Republic was quite persistent in defending the national sovereignty of Syria as the axis of resistance against the Zionist regime. He said Iran will remain by Syria’s side. The MP also stressed that the Iranian parliament will support any measure to back Damascus against its enemies. The Syrian parliamentarians appreciated Iran’s support for their nation and government in the past 20 months and reiterated that the Zionist regime is the root cause of the ongoing crisis./end
