CASH PRIZES AWARDED TO ATHLETES AND COACHES

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Ts.Oyungerel granted on Monday cash prizes to athletes and their coaches who gained brilliant success at international and continental tournaments in accordance with a governmental resolution. Allotted from the Minister's fund for sport events, money of MNT 141 million has been given to 31 athletes and coaches who won medals in the Judo World Cup, the World Junior Chess Championship, and World championships for aerobic gymnastics and wrestling. After the presentation ceremony, the Minister Ts.Oyungerel heard from the athletes some urgent problems faced to sports of judo, sirym wrestling, aerobic gymnastics and chess. She stated that the Ministry is focusing attention to updating a legal environment for the sport sector in the first turn, and also working out draft new wordings of the laws on legal status of physical culture and sports committees and on constructions for sports. She proposed the athletes and coaches to give their opinions to these draft laws. B.Khuder
