China praises Thai government on maintaining peace

BANGKOK, Dec 16 (TNA) -- The Chinese Communist Party (CPC) International Department Vice Minister Zheng Xiaosong had called upon Deputy Premier/Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwonearlier today, during which the Chinese representative has expressed his thanks to Thailand for continued military cooperation and gave praised to the Thai government for its efforts to maintain peace and order in the country. Defense Ministry Deputy Spokesman Maj Gen Rangsan Yaowaratana said Gen Prawit had taken the opportunity to stressed on the long standing friendship between both sides and informed of his recent visit to China on December 12-13, 2016, when he had met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Chinese Defense Minister Gen Zhang Wanxuan During the meeting, Gen Prawit has affirmed that the Thai government would continue with its plans to reform the country in line with democracy in order to for the Thailand to develop sustainably. In response, Mr Zheng had expressed his thanks to Thailand for always giving its full support on military and security cooperation, stressing that the situation in Thailand under the current government is quite peaceful. Mr Zheng added, China, as one of Thailand's good neighbours is extremely happy for Thailand and its people, despite the fact that both countries have different ruling system. (TNA)
