Construction of hospital to be completed under concession contract

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The "Hour for solution" weekly meeting on Wednesday touched upon issues of completing a construction of a new maternal house in "Yaarmag" micro-district in the city's Khan-Uul district. The construction started in 2009 but has stopped until today due a problem with tender matters. At the meeting, the Premier said Mongolia needs more kindergartens, schools and hospitals because "our population is growing", and stressed that time has come to finish the construction. "Decisions have been made to fix a building of the hospital for state special servants under a concession contract without allotting money from the state budget, and to transfer it to a management team of the first State Central Hospital. These decisions are being realized successfully, so the new maternal hospital’s construction should be completed through this model. Some 40 billion Togrog is required for construction, and the latest techniques and facilities are needed. A company that made the concession contract will manage the hospital like a state-run one, but it can fix its tariff," the Premier said. The Premier obliged G.Shiilegdamba, the Minister of Health and Sport, S.Javkhlanbaatar, a head of the Investment Authority, and J.Tomorbaatar, a head of the State Property Committee (SPC), to seek big investors for the hospital. The Health Minister said it is fully possible to erect the hospital in the "Yaarmag" under the concession contract on "construction--using---transferring" term, and promised to fulfill this work quickly, together with relevant bodies. The Premier also ordered the Minister and other officials to focus on putting into use other eight hospitals and diagnosis center in the capital city.
