CONSULAR CONSULTATIVE MEETING HELD BETWEEN MONGOLIA AND TURKEY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The first consular consultative meeting of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Republic of Turkey was held November 30 in Ankara, Turkey.
The two sides discussed detailed issues and shared views on a present situation of the bilateral relations and cooperation, an opportunity of expanding the collaboration in the consular sector, the terms of mutual visits of people, facilitating the visa terms for Turkish people and protecting interest of Mongolian people in Turkey. Moreover, the sides exchanged information on implementation of the intergovernmental contract on rendering legal assistance of criminal, civil and economic cases and statistics in citizens of the countries.
During the meeting, the Mongolian delegation conveyed an invitation of the Mongolian Foreign Minister to the Turkish side to take part in the 7th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies (CoD) to take place in April of 2013 in Ulaanbaatar. The consultative meeting was co-chaired by Sh.Sukhbaatar, director of the Consular Department of the Mongolia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and his counterpart of Turkey S.Fakyly.
After the consultative meeting, the Mongolian delegation also held meetings in the Authority for port, immigration and foreign citizens at the General Police Department, and the Turkey-based Representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), considering issues and exchanging views on protection of civil rights of Mongolian people in Turkey.
The delegation also met with Mongolian citizens working and living in Istanbul city, and gave to them information from the Ministry of Labour and the General Registration Authority.
