Czech diplomat gives high rating to the “Way to Europe” programme

Astana, 28 November 2008 (Khabar) - In an exclusive interview with the “Khabar” agency, the ambassador of the Czech Republic to Kazakhstan, Bedriy Kopetsky said that Kazakhstan is a key partner of the Czech Republic in the Central Asian region. The ambassador gave a positive rating to the development of bilateral relations with Kazakhstan and called it strategically important. The annual turnover between the two countries exceeds 350 million US dollars and reflects the high potential for bilateral relations. Bedriy Kopetsky particularly noted the successful work of the joint Kazakhstan-Czech “Skoda” enterprise in Ust-Kamenogorsk and expressed hopes for the further development of the private economy of the two countries. Also, the ambassador has a high opinion of the “Way to Europe” state programme, initiated by the president.

- I believe that for Kazakhstan, cooperation with Europe is very beneficial. I hope that the country will follow the programme including the maintenance of legal norms and standards of law and make them correspond to European standards.
