Defense ministers says Turkey's target to be among top ten economies of the world

ILGIN (A.A) - January 15, 2012 - Turkish National Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz said that Turkey targeted to be among top ten economies of the world by 2023. Speaking at a meeting on Sunday, Yilmaz said that Turkey was currently the 16th biggest economy of the world thanks to the stability in the country. Turkey's gross national product is 800 billion USD, he said, adding that the gross national product of the U.S. was 15 trillion USD, and Turkey needed to work 20 times more to reach the U.S. Yilmaz said that Turkey was also the 6th biggest economy of Europe, adding that the migration from Turkey to foreign countries almost stopped in the past ten years, and Turkey was now employing foreign workers.
