DEPUTY PREMIER MEETS RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Deputy Prime Minister and head for the Mongolian side of the Mongolia-Russia intergovernmental commission on trade, economics, science and technical cooperation D.Terbsihdagva received Tuesday Mr V.V.Samoilenko, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia. This meeting took place before the 14th meeting of the intergovernmental commission which will run December 19-22 in Ulaanbaatar. The sides discussed agenda of the upcoming meeting and preparation for it. The two sides intend to focus on matters of the bilateral relations and cooperation, especially on economic and trade issues, and to bring them into a concrete result. Mr Terbishdagva highlighted an important role of the Mongolia-Russia joint ventures such as the "Erdenet" Mining Corporation, Mongolrostsvetmet and the Ulaanbaatar Railway, in the bilateral cooperation and said Mongolia wants to augment investments from the Russian side into an increase of benefits of these joint ventures. "Mongolia imports oil products from Russia only. Its main supplier, the Rosneft company, has increased prices of petroleum supplied to Mongolia. Our related ministry has calculated that these prices are higher by 200-300 US dollar per unit than that prices of oil products supplied by this company to other countries," Terbishdagva stressed. He underlined that at the upcoming meeting the Mongolian side will raise a matter on establishing an agreement for a sustainable supply of oil products to Mongolia and on reducing the prices, maintaining a principle of the long-year traditional and friendly relations.
