Druze Spiritual Leader Lauds Iranˈs Efforts In Resolving Syrian Crisis

Lebanon, Feb 2, IRNA - Druze Spiritual Leader, Sheikh Naim Hassan, on Friday lauded the efforts made by the Islamic Republic of Iran in resolving political crisis in Syria. Hassan made the remark in a meeting with Iranˈs Ambassador to Beirut, Ghazanfar Rokn-Abadi, on Friday. In the meeting, the two sides reviewed regional developments, Lebanonˈs events in particular. On Syrian developments, he said they want the issue be resolved through political means and all call for restoration of tranquility and stability to the country as soon as possible. Regarding significant role of Iran and its outstanding stands in regional developments, he said Iran plays leading role in resolving the issue through political means. The Iranian ambassador, for his part briefed the Druze spiritual leader of Iranˈs efforts in putting an end to Syrian crisis and said Zionist regime is the root cause of all problems in the region and the recent air raids of the Zionist regime to a research center around Damascus proves the claim. Iran underlines stronger unity between Muslims and Christians in dealing with the Zionist usurpers, he said. On the occasion of the Ten-Day Dawn, marking the 34th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, a group of Lebanese media persons met with Iranˈs ambassador to Beirut. Addressing the Lebanese mediapersons, Rokn-Abadi said the air raid revealed reality behind Syrian developments and proved that the countryˈs uprising and human catastrophe would meet the interests of the Zionist regime./end
