Dy FM: Iran Has No Problem With Saudi Gov't

Tehran, Dec 21, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Middle East and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Tuesday that Iran has explicitly made it clear to Saudi leaders that Iran has no difficulty with Saudi government.
'Absolutely, we do not have any problem with the Saudi government on mutual issues. What Iran is concerned is the flaws in Saudi foreign policy on regional and international issues.'
Amir Abdollahian said that Iran has complained to the Saudi leadership about strategic mistakes of the Riyadh government in connection with Iran and regional issues.
He did not give response to IRNA question about outcome of Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi's negotiations with Saudi leaders in Riyadh and said that the question must be asked from the intelligence minister.
'We have declared time and again that presence of Saudi military forces in Bahrain is a strategic mistake.'
He criticized the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council for declaring that an opportunity must be given to Yemeni leader Ali Abdullah Saleh to overcome the unrest, but, they deal with Syria in a way to satisfy the US and Israel.
Amir Abdollahian said that the PGCC has envisaged military interference in Bahrain just from the beginning of the unrest and the question is that why the Arab leaders do not allow Bahraini crisis to be solved through political means.
He said that Iran has not adopted a double standard policy on Bahrain or Yemen and calls for political apparatus to be given a chance to resolve the crisis in Bahrain.
He made it clear that military intervention of the Saudi government in Bahrain is against the international law and the Bahraini people must be given a chance to determine their own fate by democratic means./end
