Ecuadorian Envoy: Quito Favors Expansion Of Economic Ties With Tehran

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA - - Ecuadorian Ambassador To Iran Visente Fliks Berinus said on Sunday that Quito favors expansion of political, economic and cultural ties with Tehran. In an interview with IRNA prior to President Ahmadinejad’s upcoming visit to Quito Berinus said Ecuador is willing to boost ties with Iran in different fields of interests. Praising Ahmadinejad’s determination to serve people, Berinus said that the Ecuadorian nation highly respects Iran. The Ecuadorian diplomat’s statement is regarded a clear response to Washington's call on Quito to sever ties with Tehran. Berinus said his people believe Ahmadinejad is serving his people and doing his utmost in this respect. Berinus said it is about five years Iran and Ecuador have had close and sincere ties which was reinforced by Ecuadorian President Rafael Kure’s last year visit to Tehran. He expressed hope mutual ties would be further deepened in all fields by Ahmadinejad’s visit to Quito this week.
