Egypt Trying To Stop Zionist Regime's Aggression: Hamas

Tehran, March 12, IRNA – The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas announced on Sunday that Egypt is trying to bring about a ceasefire between the Zionist regime and authorities in Gaza Strip. A Hamas spokesman said that all Palestinian groups have positive view about the ceasefire, but they argue that the Zionist regime's aggression over past three years resulted in exchange of fire between the two sides. He noted that the Palestinian groups believe that the Zionist regime should bring to a halt its attacks before any talk about the ceasefire. At least 18 Palestinians have been killed in the latest wave of attacks by warplanes and drones of the Zionist regime in Gaza Strip. Egyptian officials are in constant contact with Hamas officials in order the end the latest escalation of tension between the two sides. 'They talk with us and we value their mediating role while hoping that their efforts aimed at putting an end to Zionist regime's aggression will bear results,' the spokesman added. He pointed out that the Egyptians have accepted our position with regard to the fact that Israel should stop its new wave of aggressions against innocent Palestinians. 'We clearly told them that Israel should put an end to its aggression, otherwise we will react,' the spokesman further added./end
