Emirates Policy Centre, Atlantic Council sign MoU

ABU DHABI, 1st November, 2015 (WAM) -- Emirates Policy Centre (EPC) and Scowcroft Centre on International Security at the Atlantic Council, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a partnership between them in the field of research, studies, exchange of experiences and capacity building.
The MoU was signed on the eve of the official opening of the Second Annual Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate, organised by the two parties in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will witness regional and international participation.
The partnership, which will come into force by January next year, last for five years and subject to renewal, aims at strengthening both centres' studies on security, political, regional and international issues, and will help keep up with the EPC's efforts to become a leading policy institution in the region and the US.
The Chairperson of the EPC, Dr. Ibtisam Al Ketbi, expressed her satisfaction on the signing of the MoU with the prestigious Atlantic Council, noting that the move comes as part of the centre's strategy to diversify its partnerships and open up to the global think tanks.
For his part, the Chairman of the Atlantic Council, Jon Huntsman Jr., said the partnership between the two parties translates the confidence of the Council in the EPC in terms of its activities and output.
The Brent Scowcroft Centre aims to produce cutting-edge analyses and develop strategies for how the United States can best work with like-minded countries to shape the future. – Emirates News Agency, WAM -http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395287384290.html
