Emirati-Korean Friendship Society has new board of directors

ABU DHABI, 16th June 2015 (WAM) --- The general assembly of the Emirati-Korean Friendship Society has elected its new board of directors for a three-year term in its second session. The assembly also designated 14 February as the Emirati-Korean Friendship Day. The new board of directors will be chaired by Humaid Abdullah Al Hammadi, with Abdullah Eisa Al Zaabi as deputy chairman; Abdul Rehman Naqi Al Bastaki, as chairman of the media committee; Mohammed Darwish Al Jeddawi as chairman of the activities committee; Samer Mohammed Al Hadhrami, as treasurer; Saif Yahya Al Ameri, as chairman of the membership committee; and Muna Mahyoub Al Hashemi, as secretary-general. The Assembly approved a proposal to grant honorary membership to businessman Siddiq Fateh Ali bin Abdullah Al Khaja in recognition of his support to voluntary work in the UAE. It also approved the financial and administrative reports of the Society. It also approved the society's next plan which includes activities like celebrating the UAE's National Day, South Korea's Independence Day and the Emirati-Korean Friendship Day, and organising a forum for Emirati and Korean students, participating in Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. The Assembly commended the growing relations between the two friendly countries in various spheres under the aegis of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
