Enkhsaikhan meets "Sumitomo" senior vice president

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister M.Enkhsaikhan, the head of the Government working group for Tavan tolgoi (TT) negotiations, received Wednesday the Senior Vice President of Sumitomo Corporation Mr Ishihara Susumu. This corporation is a stakeholder in the joint consortium that is to execute the TT project. Mr Ishihara Susumu, who arrived in the UB city to sign the TT investment agreement, is not "mentally prepared for the delay of the signing", he said. This project is very important for the Government of Japan and Sumitomo, he noted. During his visit to Japan last February, the PM of Mongolia and CEO of Sumitomo Corporation K.Nakamura discussed the TT investment, "and we understood that the agreement is to be forwarded with an approval by the Cabinet", he said. In response, Enkhsaikhan thanked him for the Corporation’s great efforts. "Spring session of parliament has resolved to discuss the draft agreement and to finalize it two weeks. A working group will be set up consisting of representatives of all political parties. The TT investment agreement will endure for 30 years. I see the parliament's discussion as an opportunity to prevent any obstacles that may face the agreement in future," he stressed. Mr Ishihara Susumu said,"We hope that the two sides will reach a mutually beneficial decision".
