Envoy Urges Release Of Kidnapped Iranian Experts

Damascus, Dec 31, IRNA -- Iran's Ambassador to Syria Mohammad Reza Raouf-Sheibani called on the Syrian government to continue efforts to secure the release of the kidnapped Iranian experts who worked for Jondar Power Station in Syria. In a meeting with the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem, he discussed the issue and urged their freedom as soon as possible. On December 20, Gunmen in Syria kidnapped five Iranian engineers who worked for a power plant in Jondar, in southeast Syria. They were transferred to an unknown place. Sheibani also condemned blasts in Syria and sympathized with the Syrian nation and Government. The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the region, as well as promotion of mutual cooperation./end
