EU Commission head calls Cypriot leaders to use chance for solution

BRUSSELS (A.A) - January 20, 2012 - EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso called on Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot leaders to use the chance for solving the Cyprus problem ahead of the tripartite Cyprus Summit in New York. President Dervis Eroglu of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will hold a summit between January 22 and 24 in Greentree, New York to find a solution for Cyprus issue. In his message, Barroso said that the summit was a good opportunity for reunification of the island by displaying required political will, vision and determination. Barroso added that both Cypriot leaders could trust in the support of the EU.
