Ex-PM urges government to speed up solving economic problem
BANGKOK, May 22 (TNA) -- May 22, 2016 marks the second anniversary of military coup in Thailand that Ms Yingluck Shinawatra coalition government was toppled, former prime minister Yingluck today urged the government to accelerate on creating reconciliation and solving economic problem in Thailand.
The military, under the name of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), seized the administrative power and toppled the Yingluck administration exactly two years ago Sunday, citing social divisiveness as major causes.
In her Facebook, Ms Yingluck said in reality people’s power, rights and freedom were taken away in the coup in which the military cited that it wanted to reform the country.
The NCPO should “not forget its promise. Is reconciliation moving in the right direction? National reform in order to gain genuine democracy should be implemented in accordance to the planned (government’s) roadmap,” Ms Yingluck said in her Facebook.
Presently, people are facing rising problems of poverty, social and narcotic issues, she said.
The government should "return happiness” as well as power, rights and freedom to the people along with resolving social divisiveness so that the past two years are not wasted, Ms Yingluck added in her Facebook. (TNA)
