EX PRESIDENT N.ENKHBAYAR TAKEN TO PRISON, MIGHT GO ON HUNGER AGAIN

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A former president of Mongolia and incumbent chairman of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) N.Enkhbayar was transferred to a Zaisan prison near Ulaanbaatar at about 11 am on Friday.
Having been sentenced on December 7 to 2.6 years in prison for an illegal privatization of a real estate and defrauding a publishing house, N.Enkhbayar was treated at the second clinical hospital for about three months.
On Friday morning the General Authority for Implementing Court Decisions (GAICD) gave him a verdict. He left for the prison without any protest.
According to B.Oyunbileg, an advocate to N.Enkhbayar, the verdict should have been handed over by the Supreme Court. "By the law, the verdict shall be introduced to the defendant's advocate first, but instead, it was given to Amaradorj, a head of the 401st prison unit," B.Oyunbileg said.
N.Enkhbayar's spouse O.Tsolmon said her husband "will go on a hunger strike". "My husband has been taken the prison deliberately. He has decided not to have neither medical treatment nor food because he has a reason to suspect that he will be harmed," she said.
Outside of the prison, some members and supporters of the MPRP, including Z.Bayanselenge MP, have arrived.
The decisive court hearing for the former president and MPRP chairman N.Enkhbayar and three other defendants D.Chuluunbaatar, J.Myagmarjargal and D.Dulamsuren was concluded at the Supreme Court on December 7 of 2012.
Before this, N.Enkhbayar had been sentenced to four years of imprisonment by the court of the city's Sukhbaatar district on August 2. Upon this, N.Enkhbayar and his lawyer appealed to the city's court, but it remained the term of four years on September 25. Thus the last chance appeared to appeal to the Supreme Court. Just before its hearing, the MPRP announced that its members would be withdrawn from the coalition government opposing the court procedure and the results of the elections of the Citizens' Representative Khural of aimags, soums and city's districts. Moreover, N.Enkhbayar's defenders were also against holding the final court session and asked to postpone, but the Supreme Court denied it and continued the hearing after a break.
After this, the Supreme Court issued a resolution committing the term of four years into 2.6 years of imprisonment.
