Federal Supreme Court hears technical report on Al Nusra Front and Ahrar Al Sham Brigade case

ABU DHABI (WAM): The Federal Supreme Court yesterday confronted suspects, who are accused of joining and funding Al Nusra Front and Ahrar Al Sham Brigade, with the laboratory technical report. Presided over by Judge Mohammed Al Jarrah Al Tinaiji, the court was furnished with electronic evidence including mobile phones and computers of the accused containing files, images and information. The judge adjourned the hearing to 28th September, when the defence lawyers will present their witnesses. Eleven of the 15 accused men appeared before the court yesterday. Members of families of the accused, representatives of media and civil society organisations attended the hearing. Meanwhile, the court looked into the case of a son whose father was convicted in the case of the dissolved secret cell by virtue of the sentence issued by the Federal Supreme Court. The son was charged with joining the secret cell and designing and running a website on social networks with the aim of publishing inaccurate, satirical and defaming ideas and information that are harmful to the structure of State institutions. He was also accused of contacting foreign organisations and presenting inaccurate information regarding the trial of the secret cell and living conditions inside the jail.
