FM Aidarbekov, UNDP administrator discuss cooperation issues

Bishkek, Sept.25, 2019. /Kabar/. On the margins of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov met with Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Achim Steiner. The meeting was held at the initiative of the Kyrgyz side. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that topical issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and UNDP were discussed, in particular, the development of cooperation within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals and the relevant Agenda until 2030. The sides exchanged views on the implementation of priority areas of UNDP assistance to Kyrgyzstan. Minister Aidarbekov commended the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for 2018-2022, expressed his appreciation for the $92 million in UNDAF assistance, and expressed confidence that thanks to the joint efforts the UNDAF grant contribution would be fully allocated for the remainder of the implementation period.
