FMs of Kyrgyzstan and China discuss opening of border and export of Kyrgyz organic products

Bishkek, May 27, 2020 / Kabar /. On May 26, a telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov and Member of the State Council, Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. During the conversation, the sides discussed cooperation in overcoming the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Aidarbekov expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for the continued provision of humanitarian assistance to the Kyrgyz side to fight with coronavirus. In addition, the ministers discussed current directions and prospects for bilateral cooperation, including the resumption of the operation of checkpoints across the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border, as well as the arrival of Chinese specialists to implement existing joint Kyrgyz-Chinese infrastructure projects, as well as export of Kyrgyz environmental clean products to China. In light of the negative impact of coronavirus infection on the macroeconomic situation, the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister drew attention to the importance of assisting in alleviation the burden of external debt on the country's budget.
