Foreign Ministry should closely monitor intl. developments: Iranian president

TEHRAN, Dec.28(MNA) – Iran`s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the Foreign Ministry should keep a close eye on the developments taking place in the region and the world. He made the remarks in an address to a meeting of Iran’s ambassadors to African states in Tehran on Tuesday. The West is facing two serious problems in its confrontation with Iran, Ahmadinejad said, noting that first of all, they failed to justify the Zionist regime’s existence to Middle Eastern states and secondly, they continued supporting unpopular and dictatorial regimes in the region. Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that Iran is seeking to eradicate the hegemonistic system from the world. However, the West is making efforts to increase the influence of the hegemonistic system across the world through establishing dominance over energy resources in the region and manipulating public opinion in the Middle East.
