Former US Official: US Really Needs To Be Friends With Iran

New York, March 13, IRNA - Former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark condemned the US sanctions against Iran and said Washington really needed to be friends with Iran. Talking to IRNA on Tuesday, he said sanctions against Iran were not acceptable and the US should become aware of this. He also said that the US had to pay a lot to the people of Iran for supporting the Pahlavid regime which suppressed the nation for a quarter of a century. Stressing that the threats of military attacks against Iran by the US were meaningless, he said such a manner was rejected by both the US Constitution and the United Nations Charter. Clark believed that imposing harsh sanctions on the people of a country literally meant declaring war against that nation./end
